Christopher Buckley

Social Studies Teacher, Brookfield High School

Chris Buckley is a veteran teacher who currently works with students at Brookfield High School in Brookfield, CT. In 2021, Chris was nominated as a semi-finalist in the Connecticut Teacher of the Year program. In addition to his work as a classroom teacher, Chris serves as the co-chair for the Human Rights Education Community within the National Council for the Social Studies, as a regional representative for Human Rights Educators USA, and as a member of the Steering Committee for the Connecticut Human Rights Partnership. Since 2010, Chris has served as a Lead Educator for RFK Human Rights and has presented at conferences and teacher workshops on the resources provided within the Speak Truth to Power toolkit. Chris also serves as a teacher advisor to the Connecticut Human Rights Youth Council.
